The 1st International Conference “Raising Effectiveness of Social Advertising in Russia” will take place on October 8-9, 2009 in Moscow.
One of the conference’s objectives is to discover a new conceptual approach to social advertising and raising quality of social advertising as a universal instrument of solving social issues.
The framework of the event includes a press-conference, a series of round table discussions and workshops, exhibition of works of the regional social advertising festivals, show of the best social advertisements from the biggest international festivals (Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, etc.). It is also planned to organize an express-laboratory, a completely unique format event within which advertisers from a certain region will go through the process of express evaluation of their works.
Several workshops will be attended by experts from Europe and USA. They will give consultations to Russian specialists in the spheres of development, production and placement of social advertising, as well as assess the social products already made.
Among the guests of the Conference we expect to see over 100 employees of NPOs of Russia, representatives of governmental organizations, advertisers, journalists, CEOs and top-managers of private socially responsible businesses, as well as many seniors students of specialized higher educational establishments of Moscow (Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University, Russian State University of the Humanities, Russian State Social University).
The Conference will take place at the Moscow Cinema House located near Belorusskaya and Mayakovskaya subway stations. The total number of visitors expected is 500 people.
The Conference is organized on the initiative of the Coalition of NPOs for the Social Advertising Development in Russia, created in 2008 by the leading non-profit organizations of Russia: Agency of Social Advertising, The Laboratory of Social Advertising, Public Health and Social Development Foundation FOCUS-MEDIA, WWF Russia, and public association Children’s School of Advertising.
A number of organizations have already expressed their support to the Conference, including the Union of Film-makers of Russia, New York Film Academy, State University – Higher School of Economics, Association of Communication Agencies of Russia, Information Office of the Council of Europe in Russia and relevant state federal agencies.
Based on the Conference results a methodological collection book will be published, which will be spread among regional experts dealing with social advertising orders, development, production, placement and assessment.
